About

The 3+2 programs at the LSU School of Public Health provide a fast-track option for students who want to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in just five years. Pairing an undergraduate degree with an MPH gives students a broader, population-level view of health and prepares them to address real-world challenges like chronic disease, environmental health, and health disparities. Students build skills in epidemiology, data analysis, health policy, and program planning, positioning them for careers in healthcare, research, nonprofits, government, and beyond.

Offerings

Through partnerships with the LSU School of KinesiologyLSU College of the Coast & Environment and Dillard University’s Public Health Program, students begin their studies in their chosen undergraduate field and transition into graduate coursework at the LSU School of Public Health during their fourth year. This approach allows students to complete undergraduate requirements while getting an early start on their MPH, making it a practical and cost-effective path to both degrees.

Application Process:

After the second year in the above-listed bachelor’s programs, an interested student undergoes an evaluation by their school. As a result of a favorable evaluation, a student can then proceed to the third year of study and also be given acceptance into the LSU School of Public Health master's program.
