Center For Evidence To Practice

Study Design
We help with designs for clinical trials, experiments, and observational studies. We also offer control designs for behavioral studies, qualitative design studies, and mixed-method approaches.

Data Management and Visualization
The center assists in developing data management plans, GIS mapping, data visualization, and knowledge of behavioral and community public datasets.

REDCap
We help researchers design, configure, and manage REDCap projects to support data collection and analysis. If you need REDCap support only, please fill out the REDCap service request form.

Statistical Services
These include study design consultation, sample size justification, power calculation, statistical analysis plan development, data management plan development, statistical analysis, a practical summary of study results, statistical review and editing, and peer review response.

Research Methods
The center provides guidance and training on qualitative and quantitative research methods, including focus group methods, intersectional theory approaches, formative research, and systematic and scoping reviews.

Survey Design and Measurement Development
Development of survey and test items and instruments for measurement of latent and manifest constructs. This includes psychometric methods for assessing instrument validity and reliability such as exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

Participant Recruitment in Hidden and Vulnerable Populations
Use of specialized recruitment methods for reaching hidden or vulnerable populations such as people who inject drugs, sexual and gender minorities, or other populations that do not have readily available sampling frames. Center staff have extensive experience developing and rigorous implementation of best methods for reaching these groups such as respondent-driven sampling (RDS), venue/time-based sampling, and sampling from large public health disease registries.

Program Evaluation and Monitoring
We assist in program and project evaluation, program monitoring, and community and behavioral health policy impact evaluations. We also help conduct gap and needs analyses in health services; as well as assessment of exposure and risk reduction interventions.

Environmental Services
The center offers chemical and cumulative risk and impact assessment, environmental monitoring for select chemicals and pathogens, air dispersion, chemical fate-transport, and meteorological modeling.

Communication Training
The center provides health-related communication approaches for public dissemination and offers training on various topics.

Workshops and Seminars
The center organizes workshops and seminars on population health research methods and applications, and provides statistical and software training.

Other Services
Other population health research-related services include database building and data collection, community-based participatory research (CBPR), economic evaluation, and interpretation and evaluation of environmental policies and regulations.
