The LSU Health New Orleans School of Public Health (LSUHSC-NO SPH) is one of six schools at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, a public academic health center. The School was established in 2003–2004 and trains students in public health practice, research, and policy from its campus in downtown New Orleans. Learn more about the School.

Yes, at two levels. LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, the parent institution, holds regional accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), first accredited in 1931. The School of Public Health itself is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the national accrediting body for public health schools and programs.

The School maintains a small student-to-teacher ratio — recently reported at approximately 3:1 — giving students close access to faculty for mentorship, research, and field experience opportunities.

The graduation rate for the MPH degree was 95% for the 2024–2025 academic year.

The School's faculty conduct research across biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental and climate health, and community health policy, supported by roughly $15.5 million in grants and contracts.
