The Infectious Diseases and Chronic Diseases Research Interest Group brings together researchers working on infectious diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, and other sexually transmitted diseases, substance use, liver disease, neurodegenerative disorders, and other chronic conditions. The group has a particular interest in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including risk factors, disease progression, prevention, health disparities, and the use of epidemiologic, biostatistical, and data science methods in aging research.
The group provides a forum for faculty, staff, students, and collaborators to share
ongoing work, identify common interests, and develop new projects. We welcome collaborations
that combine clinical, community, population health, and quantitative expertise, including
joint grant applications, data analysis, intervention development, and translation
of research findings into public health practice.
