Student Life

To advance the public's health and well-being through education, research & service
with a focus on issues affecting Louisiana

Student Government Association
Monthly meetings are held by students to discuss upcoming events at the SPH and how to get involved in the community and at the university.  LSUHSC SPH’s SGA usually completes 2 community service projects each year and hosts an end of the year school event/party for all students

Wellness Center
LSUHSC offers a wellness center with group exercise classes and workout equipment.  The wellness center is open to all LSUHSC students, faculty, and staff, free of charge.

LSUSHC Campus
At the LSUHSC campus, there are many areas for students to study and relax in between classes and in their spare time.

Where to eat
A cafeteria is available on the third floor of the Medical Education Building (MEB), and two cafes serve specialty items on the Library’s third floor and in the breezeway that connects MEB to the Nursing/Allied Health Building. There are also other great eateries around LSUHSC.

Intramural Sports
All LSUHSC schools have an opportunity to participate in intramural sports during the fall and spring semesters.  In the past, the school has been able to produce enough players to make teams for flag football and softball.  The team(s) made by each school play against one another in fun and friendly games that occur usually once a week for a month or two during each semester
