| 3/29/96 | MPH Degree Program Proposed to LSU Board of Supervisors and Board of Regents for the state of Louisiana |
| 3/26/97 | MPH Program Approved by LSU Board of Supervisors and the Board of Regents for Higher Education for the state of Louisiana |
| 5/99 | Graduation of first MPH Class |
| 3/27/03 | Louisiana Board of Regents Approves LSU HSC School of Public Health (SPH) |
| 5/29/03 | MPH Program Accredited by Council for Education in Public Health |
| 7/1/03 | LSU SPH begins operations at 1615 Poydras St on the LSU HSC downtown campus |
| 11/17/03 | School of Public Health approved as an Associate Member of the Association of Schools of Public Health |
| Fall 2004 | New MPH concentrations began in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Environmental/ Occupational Health Sciences |
| Fall 2005 | New MPH concentrations offered in Behavioral/Community Health Sciences and Health Policy/ Systems Management. |
| Fall 2008 | New PhD program in Biostatistics began. |
| Fall 2010 | New PhD program in Epidemiology offered. |
