Louisiana Comprehensive CancerControl Program
The Louisiana Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, funded by the CDC is part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program. LCCCP is dedicated to reducing cancer inequalities by providing a comprehensive, integrated, and coordinated approach to the continuum of cancer control service delivery.
Housed at the LSU School of Public Health the following programs comprise the LCCCP:
- Louisiana Breast and Cervical Health Program (LBCHP)
The LBCHP is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. It provides access to lifesaving services for early detection of breast and cervical cancers to low-income, uninsured, and underserved women in Louisiana.

- Louisiana Cancer Control Partnership Program (LCCP)
LCCP, also funded by the CDC and part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, is a coalition dedicated to reducing cancer inequalities by providing a comprehensive, integrated, and coordinated approach to the continuum of cancer control service delivery. In addition to facilitating the state comprehensive cancer control plan, LCCP conducts a physician detailing project that focuses on promoting the American Cancer Society’s cancer screening guidelines, and a sun safety campaign.

- Louisiana Cancer Information Service (CIS)
The Louisiana CIS, part of the Mid-South Cancer Information Services, is funded by the National Cancer Institute. It provides cancer resources, data and information to underserved populations and non-profit groups.

- Louisiana FIT Colon Program (LA FITCo)
The FITCo is a new program funded by the state of Louisiana. It provides access to lifesaving services for early detection of colorectal cancer to low-income, uninsured, and underserved men and women in Louisiana. During this first year, the program is focusing on establishing services and increasing the colorectal early detection capacity of public and rural hospitals.

Locations:

Initial providers (federally-qualified health centers, public and rural hospitals) to begin services shortly in NW Louisiana and in Region 9 (Northshore). Program planning and capacity building in all other regions of the state.
- Greater New Orleans Patient Navigation Program
Patient navigations services provided to low-income, uninsured, and underserved men and women in Metro Orleans. Navigator assist patients with cancer early detection and treatment in order to ensure patients have access to and complete needed services. This new program is funded by the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation.

The physician detailing project is a statewide academic detailing program targeting primary care physicians and providers. Modeled after the pharmaceutical sales approach, regional cancer control officers promote the American Cancer Society Screening Guidelines through the delivery of brief, targeted messages to doctors and other providers at their practice site. The detailing program focuses on breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer.
