  • Dr. Edward Peters, DMD, ScD

 Epidemiology Data Center Director

Dr. Peters received a Bachelor of Science degree from Clark University. He then received a Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Peters completed a residency in General Dentistry and a Clinical Fellowship in Oral Medicine and Dentistry both at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. During the same year, Dr. Peters completed a Clinical Fellowship in Oral Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Peters continued his graduate studies with a SM in Health Policy and Management, a SM in Epidemiology and a ScD in Epidemiology; all from Harvard University. He has been a Visiting Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute, a Member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, a Consultant for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and a Visiting Fellow at Karolina Institutet, Sweden. Dr. Peters has held major administrative responsibilities as an Assistant Chief for Research, Director of General Dentistry and Chief, Division of Oral Medicine and Dentistry. His research interests include: Virus Associated Malignancies, Cancer Prevention and Control, Molecular, Genetic and Environmental Epidemiology, and Spatial Epidemiology. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Public Health and an Epidemiologist with the Louisiana Tumor Registry. He is currently the Principal Investigator of two CDC funded projects that exam the impact of HPV vaccination on cervical cancer and precancerous lesions and other HPV associated malignancies.

  •  Megan Bronson

Epidemiology Data Center Manager

Megan Bronson received her BS from Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1999. She has worked extensively in laboratory and epidemiologic study environments, including various laboratories at the Harvard School of Public Health in the Departments of Cancer Cell Biology and Environmental Health and at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center both in the School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry, and the School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. She has participated in various genotyping studies involving multi-site studies and a variety of biological samples. She has experience with multi-site study development, management and implementation.
