Degree and Curriculum
Full-time students
The MPH program in epidemiology is a 45-credit and 2-year curriculum. To be considered a full-time student, a minimum of nine credit hours must be taken in each Fall and Spring semester and three credit hours during summer semester. Policies concerning Status of Limitations and Leaves of Absences are in the General Policies & Procedures section of the Student Handbook.
All courses taken by students count toward their degree, but no more than a total of 5 credit hours of the 45 credit hour minimum may be earned for the practice experience.
Please refer to the school catalog for the policy on transferring credits earned at other institutions.
Students are required to take all school core courses and the required epidemiology courses to obtain the Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology.

Students are expected to complete master’s degree in epidemiology within eight years (need to be discussed). In case of extenuating circumstances, the student may request a one-year extension provided there is adequate justification. Students who do not graduate within the approved time limit will need to be readmitted to the school in order to complete the degree program.
