Dr. Jim Diaz's research interests: impact of climate changes on natural disasters public health outcomes, arthropod-borne emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, food and waterborne infectious diseases, medical toxicology, environmental and occupational toxicology, neurotoxicology, occupational health and medicine, prevention and control of infectious diseases and injuries in travelers.
Dr. Chih-yang Hu's research interests:
Water Quality and Resource Management, wetland restoration, water source conservation, biological water treatment
Environmental Sciences and impact of climate change

Dr. Harrington's research interests are primarily in air pollution and exposure assessment. His most recent research is focused on the assessment of indoor air quality in Louisiana hospitality venues before and after the enactment of Act 815, the Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act. This research is being conducted in collaboration with Dr. Ed Peters of the Epidemiology Program and with the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living.
Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) Program in Brazil to study the applications of GIS technologies in the prevention and control of arthropod-borne and climate influenced infectious disease outbreaks.
The US-Brazil Program fosters university partnerships through the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff within the context of bilateral curricular development. Students benefit from having an international curriculum and cultural dimension added to their studies through a combination of bilateral curricular innovation and study abroad.
