Research and Service Programs
Faculty members in the Biostatistics Program are active researchers in statistical methodology and in collaborative research studies resulting in publications in leading statistical, clinical, and biomedical research journals. The Biostatistics faculty works closely with the nine federally-supported Centers of Excellence at LSUHSC and is actively involved in research supported by funding agencies such as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health. Graduate students in the degree programs offered by the Biostatistics Program work on these projects under the supervision of faculty mentors as part of their statistical consulting coursework.
