Introduction
Behavioral and Community Health Sciences are concerned with understanding the social and behavioral factors that influence the health of people and developing progress and policies to assist the public in improving their health. BCHS offers a 45-Credit Masters of Public Health. The mission of BCHS is to educate both practitioners and scholars to identify and understand the role of individual, social, cultural and bio-behavioral determinants of health and to design, implement and evaluate interventions and policies aimed at improving, promoting and protecting the health of communities and populations. Faculty members in BCHS are active researchers in a diverse spectrum of areas associated with public health resulting numerous varied publications. Graduate students in the degree programs offered by BCHS work on selected projects under the supervision of faculty mentors as part of their coursework.
